Small Groups

Discipleship Groups-These small groups follow a guided curriculum that follows the traditional lectionary Bible readings. The curriculum encourages discussion and includes reflections on the text by Methodist founder, John Wesley. There is currently one small groups meeting that follow the Discipleship curriculum in varying degrees. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month at 11:30 AM in Bogeys restaurant in the Quality Inn in Clarkston; contact Cottie Hood for more information 208-746-1764.

A different small group opportunity exists with our prayer groups and prayer chains. There is a Monday morning prayer group which meets at 9AM in different locations, usually someone’s home. The prayer list from Sunday is updated and new people are added as necessary as the group meets to lift up others in prayer. Primary facilitators are Barb Maple 208-743-2158, and Gayla Ballantyne 208-798-4871. There are three different prayer chains that participate simply by calling each other when a need is encountered and praying for the situation at hand; either Barb Maple or Gayla Ballantyne will be able to further explain and include you in the prayer chain ministry.

A different Bible study experience is available on Tuesdays at 11 AM that meets in the church in Wesley Hall (upstairs across from main office)  This group is currently working their way through the Bible, one chapter at a time, and discussing all the possible meanings and perhaps crazy notions encountered along the way. In this group, questions are encouraged, there is plenty of discussion, an element of doubt and lots of laughter. It is a fun and safe environment to confront your questions and gain some clarity on what the Bible really means.

There is an active United Methodist Women chapter in the church which meets on the third Thursday of the month at 10am. Current UMW Co-Presidents are Mary McNish & Kathy Bostrom, call the church office for more information.

An active Men’s fellowship also exists and a group of men meet for coffee and prayer on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 AM at Jeffery’s restaurant in Lewiston and there is also an informal Men’s Breakfast which meets each month on the 3rd Saturday at Main Street Grill from 9AM-10:30, Contact Larry Ballantyne for more information, 208-798-4871.
